A Barton Halloween!

So, now that I finally found the cord to upload pics from the cam I can share! I know it's a few days late, but still fun to see.

Brody had a blast carving pumpkins this year. He helped come up with all the ideas. We made a haunted house pumpkin, a scaredy ghost pumpkin, Dad's old school pumpkin and the infamous "Bat-o-lantern!" Which Brody made a point to tell everyone about.

Lilah was fascinated!

But that didn't last long!

Brody decided to go as a spider and actually jumped at the chance to put his costume on. Quite an improvement from the struggle we had last year.

However, he refused to say Trick or Treat. His version was "Give me some candy" Maybe next year we'll have it all down.

Lil' Miss Independent...would not hold anyone's hand and just wanted to walk on her own.

Lilah Turns One!

Mama and Lilah had a little sushi tea party date. We put on our party dresses and Lilah showed off her "funny smile".

Who can resist a giant cupcake...best thing ever!

A bit daintier than Brody's 1st Birthday cake mess.

Showin' off more of her "funny smile".

Starting Over

So, life took over...as it sometimes has a tendency to do...and I took a little break from the online world. It wasn't an intentional decision, but as my pregnancy was nearing it's final stages and home and work became increasingly stressful, blogging was the first thing to go. In retrospect, I really should have kept it going as it always seems to be the perfect outlet and could have been used as a stress relieving tactic. I could go over a million other excuses, but none of them would suffice. Now, I'm left with an immense amount of 'catch up' work to do.

Let's see. We left off at me about a month away from having a baby. Yep, that happened. We welcomed the second addition to our little family, a beautiful baby girl we named Lilah Margrit Barton. She is an absolute joy and the light of our lives...cheesy I know, but true. Here's a few pics of our "Little Sweetheart", which is what Brody calls her.

One day old.

A very tired mommy and daughter.

A curious big brother.

Still very, very tired.

Definitely my daughter...very vocal from day one.

Loves her boppy.

Playing well together.

Little Fashionista!

Daddy's girl already.

Invisible Brody

I have yet to capture a picture of this event, but I will...

Recently we gave Brody the idea that when he closes his eyes he becomes invisible. Every time he shuts his eyes we pretend not to see him and he thinks it's hilarious.

Well, a couple nights ago, I was getting Brody's bath ready and when I walked into the living room where he was playing I said, "Okay little man, it's time for your bath." As soon as Brody heard the word bath he stopped running around immediately in the center of the room, clenched his fists and closed his eyes tight, convinced that I couldn't see him.

I died laughing and still when I think about it I can't help but laugh out loud.

Hilarious!!!

"Piggy Bank Please!"

Ever since we stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Edwards, Brody has been bugging us for a piggy bank. Well, we finally delivered with not one, but TWO piggy banks. One really one and one toy that he can learn all about money. He was so incredibly excited and we almost had to let him sleep with them. Maybe we can learn to save money from him.

San Diego

To escape from the heat for a while we packed into the car and drove to San Diego. It was absolutely beautiful there at 71 degrees. Just a slight change from 115 in Phoenix. Here are the photos from all the magic that happened there.

Awesome pitching machine that Brody rocked.
Cousins in the tub!
Do you remember those cereal bowls with the straws attached you could all the chocolate milk from your Coco Puffs? Yep, you're looking at 'em.
Cruisin' in the convertible down the 101.

Beach BBQ night. Truly nothing like it!
